We Found Dragons

Dragons and Dinosaurs. I can't wait to show the geeyuls.

They will envy me and say I made it up. But I have pictures.

The metalsmith who crafts these behemoths has a precocious ten year old,
and because she and the rest of the sales folk were just amazingly nice,
we dug deep and splurged on two items from their five dollar collection.

Alas, none were dragons.

In Memoriam (1); Art Is (2)

Incredible show of succulent secrets appeared this week at the L.A. Arbo. Who knew a row of lowly yucca-looking plants were really the exotic Puya berteroniana from the Andes region. Until they decide to send up flower shoots, desert plants remain ignored and castigated.

Their strange color speaks to the strangely sudden passing of the irrepressible and irreplaceable Chuck Colson (1931 - 2012).

HOW will this misshapen, hapless world survive without him?

Another Arbo development:  the sudden appearance of new product display stands, both on the giftshop patio and inside; a wonderblend of art, design, discipline and excellence.  The sudden transformation astounds.  Simple, yet grand.
J.L. interrupts a stately urn silhouette.
(He can do whatever he wants! He covered for
my daft shift absence.)
Couldn't resist snapping a pix of peacock puppets

Slave

Dylan knew.  I'm either a slave to my flesh "waging war against the law of my mind..."  or, a slave to the Romans 5 mind of Christ.

But who spends any part of an hour reading Romans? Who recognizes the quiet moment before news hits driveway / finger hits mouse, when the mind wants revamping; reforming; rewinding; repenting. Does anyone go to scripture anymore? I hate admitting that I prefer to fill my mind with moving pictures. Yet,

While the movie-going world swoons over a titanic movie, there are better thoughts to ponder.

DeCaprio can't touch the manhood message of these two mid-April motifs.

One depicts moving from life to death; the other, from death to life.

Romans 6:17

New American Standard Bible (NASB)
17 But thanks be to God that
though you were slaves of sin,
you became obedient from the heart
to that form of teaching
to which you were committed..."

Women and children first,
Once upon a time.

Seeing Easter Red

How,
without intention,
without plan,
Bonhoeffer, medievalist Walter Horn, a
visit to the Holocaust Museum,
bike rides and garden quests
in search of red and
Easter,
all fell within the same
twelve days...

Josephs Coat, orange at 7AM,
. . . morphs to yellow, then pink by evening. Red might be in there somewhere?

. . . culminating in
GoodFriday,
duty,
and simply the greatest movie ever made. . .
Glorious,
with prayer for Mel to find recovery from his inevitable demons

Passover
to
Resurrection,
How red will speak
To fallen man
Portends his take
on
Divine plans.
